About

Zefram is an alternative rock band from Syracuse, NY playing an upbeat blend of classic and modern guitar-forward music.

James Debiase – Guitar / Vox

James “Soup” DeBiase is a life long musician and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist who has always dreamed of being onstage. James has sang in a capella groups, barbershop quartets, and even in jazz bands. He has shared the stage with names like Lew Soloff of Blood Sweat and Tears, and currently gigs with two other central New York Bands; In The Flesh and F5. His work in Zefram finds him on vocals and guitar, and the occasional bout of tomfoolery.

Josh Hintz – Drums / Vox

Josh Hintz started his musical career playing drums with his father and brother for a local church band for nearly a decade. He expanded his artistic talents playing the guitar and lead vocals in local rock band Corcoran Live for almost 10 years. During that time he was a choral performer in a jazz choir, in all-county choirs, in New York State School Music Association competitions. He continued to play, guitar and vocals in a variety of local bands. He then took vocal talents to the stage of community theater in CNY playhouse productions. After a brief hiatus from performance, he has now returned to his original instrument of drums in Zefram.

Fred Hintz – Bass Guitar / Vox

Fred Hintz has been a musician in the central New York area for over 20 years, playing and singing with jazz ensembles, rock bands, and choruses. Fred has played bass guitar with ensembles opening for the late Aretha Franklin and Bela Fleck and the Flecktones at the Syracuse Jazz fest. He has toured the major cities of South america singing tenor with Syracuse University’s Hendricks Chapel Choir. More recently he has shared the Crouse-Hinds theater stage with Broadway star Melissa Errico as a member of the Syracuse Pops Chorus, singing with the Syracuse Orchestra. In 2009-2011 he was the lead guitarist for local rock group K9-13. From 2007-2012 he sang and played guitar with local band Corcoran Live! He has also played keyboards and bass guitar with local touring gospel group Kevin Stephens and Free Spirit. Aside from Zefram he has played solo acoustic sets at Shiftys, Funk and Waffles, 16 Stone brewery, TK Tavern, The 443 Social club, and many more in the Central New York area.
